We have visited Island Books and Crafts many times. It has to be one of the best book stores in the U.P. It attractively displays a huge selection of books, art, and artisan creations. I've never been in another store quite like it. And, Les the owner knows more local history than anyone around.
Handmade wood furniture, art, crafts, curiosities. Lots of books, both new and used. Selection is non-standard so very interesting. Lots of local flavor and also a large selection of nature-related books. Owner is very friendly and knowledgable about the city. Definitely worth a stop.
