Such a cool campground. We watched the ships go by as they passed through the locks from Huron to Superior. I can see Canada from my camper
This campground is located right on the river. The daily boat show of the lake freighters is w worth the price. The owners have thoughtfully placed fire rings along the river because they know where their campers will be sitting. There is complimentary coffee in the office and my husband claims it is really good. The bathrooms are old but well maintained. No handicapped stalls though and you have to straddle the toilet in order to close the door.
Was a great overall experience. Had some family connect with us up north and the gal at the front desk was able to rearrange things to get us two camp spots side-by-side with electrical. Very nice campground for being right in the middle of town and between the two boat tour docks. Price was good, and facilities were pretty decent. Arcade in the back for the kids. Only reason I'm giving it four stars is that the owner was a little curt and rude with me on the way out. She came wandering by as we were clearing out (which, I might add, I'm a ninja at doing in a short period of time) and, instead of introducing herself as the owner and reminding me I had 30 minutes to check out, just walked up and said, "You have a lot to do in 30 minutes. I'm the owner." No smile, no thanks for staying. Staff is very good, owner is rude.
Location is nice on St Mary’s river. The place cost $30.00 a night, we stayed in a motor home. Ability to turnaround and park is good. The problem comes with the wife of the owner who has no self respect. She yelled at my wife when she was putting the leash on the puppy after she had went down the Motorhome steps. I had walked to the office and talked to their employee that we were going to be close to leaving by 12 noon. She said ok and keep her informed. Mrs owner drives by the site at 1206pm, reps on the door and asked if I was going to re register. I advised the conversation with her employee and she claims “I am the boss”. I mean this is at least a 65 year old woman that weighs 120 lbs. We don’t need this stress And as a result cannot recommend what otherwise is an average RV park
Great place. Very quiet except for those loud boat horns which we loved! Great place to stay. Easy walk too town and locks. Loved it here.
